I would like to share with you one of my favourite hotels in the world, the Four Seasons George V – nestled In the heart of Paris. As you might have previously read, I adore the Four Seasons in Maui, but each hotel is unique and they each have a very different feel.

If its luxury and opulence you are looking for, you are in the right place. We were collected as soon as we landed by a representative of the Four Seasons who accompanied us and expedited us through security and promptly collected our bags. We were met by friendly drivers who had the correct car seat for the age of our little one – which is so important for us, when we travel.

You are welcomed by a breath-taking foyer which was adorned with a phenomenal Christmas theme. We visited for four nights in the beginning of January so it was nice to carry on the festive feel.

Check-in is seamless and you are personally shown to your room and I was delighted to be welcomed with my favourite drink and macaroons – which I ordered in a previous stay, the attention to previous customer preference is astonishing.

We had connecting rooms as requested as they were a superior and deluxe room, both beautifully decorated and spacious. You do get more floor space in the superior room, but the deluxe room is more than adequate even with a cot in place.

The attention to detail when travelling to the property with children is marvellous, you receive a nappy bin, highchair, spare nappies which are the correct size for your child, wipes, toiletries and a tartine et chocolate toy.

I did remove the bumpers from the cot because I follow the Lullaby Trust safe sleep clear cot campaign as I am a paediatric sleep consultant.

One of my favourite parts of the hotel is the beautiful spa area, which consists of a pool and spa pool which is perfect for little ones. The staff are so helpful and offer poolside toys and always offer water when you are poolside. The loungers are great, and it is a perfect spot to grab some fruit and ice-cream for the little ones and I might of enjoyed some myself!

The gym is situated behind the pool, so it’s nice for people to be able to see each other when one is poolside, and one is in the gym.

Breakfast is a choice of buffet where they offer a wide range of breads and pastries, yoghurts, fruit and smoked salmon or you can choose from the extensive breakfast menu which offers a plethora of choices such as smashed avocado, a selection of eggs, full English and Mandarin options and my personal favourite which are waffles and pancakes served with seasonal berries.

I mentioned to our waiter that we were going to Euro Disney and we received very special pancakes that day – what a thoughtful surprise!

Restaurants

The hotel has the following restaurant as well as in-room dining:

Le Cinq

Le Cinq by Christian Le Squer is synonymous with the apex of French modern and elegant cuisine, paired with the rarest wines selected by award-wining Head Sommelier Eric Beaumard. Its three Michelin stars are a reflection of the gastronomic experience of a lifetime – in one of the city’s most majestic dining rooms.

Le George

With its vibrant, chic and contemporary atmosphere, Le George offers the perfect spot to discover the modern Mediterranean-style cuisine crafted by Michelin-distinguished Chef Simone Zanoni.

L’Orangerie

Awarded one Michelin star, L’Orangerie offers a new culinary experience served in a luminous setting. The cuisine is light, balanced and innovative, with an emphasis on plant- and fish-based dishes, as well as dairy.

In-room Dining

Whether you’re after a Parisian breakfast, a light lunch or dinner with wine, the in-room dining service delivers a gourmet experience to your room or suite, 24 hours a day.

As I was travelling with a little one, we chose to eat in our room after our swimming sessions. The children’s menu is great and they are also happy to offer anything from the main menu in a child size portion – as my little companion is happy to eat salmon, steak and prawns it was great to be able to have these in a suitable portion size.

I have got to add that the mashed potato they offer is the best I have ever had, it is so buttery and smooth, I had it three nights out of four!
