The benefits of LED lighting
At a time where we all want to be more eco-friendly and also reduce costs as much as we can – it is time to think how we can save money around the home. We can do this in many ways by making small changes and replacing certain elements. One of the ways to reduce your energy consumption is to replace traditional light bulbs with LED bulbs.
There is no question that LED lights save you money – they use less energy, last longer and they are instantly bright when you switch them on. LEDs are the most energy-efficient bulbs. They use 90% less energy than traditional incandescents and can actually pay for themselves through energy savings in just a couple of months.
Light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, are a solid-state lighting solution that uses a semiconductor to convert electricity into light. LEDs use a whole lot of fewer watts than traditional light bulbs, which means they also last much longer, minimum 25,000 hours! They also emit less heat than traditional lightbulbs and aren’t breakable like a glass bulb.
LED lights are now used throughout the home including types of ceiling lights and wall lights including LED Panels. LED panel lighting comes in a huge range of styles and sizes which would be perfect for use in offices or shops. These panel lights are a type of lighting fixture designed to replace conventional fluorescent ceiling lights. They also provide you with the option to change the level of brightness you want in your area with their dimming switch option. This also helps you in saving your electricity bill by consuming only the amount brightness which is required.
As well as being functional they are also aesthetically pleasing to look at and come in a wide range of colours to suit the mood of the room. You can even get LED fairy lights to string up around your room.
It is also thought that LEDs may have health benefits too. LED lights can mimic natural light thus decreasing headaches. When used in schools they can help with concentration as they do not flicker like old style overhead fluorescent lights. It has also been claimed to be associated with decreased levels of stress and anxiety.
As you can see there are many pros as to why you should make the switch.
