Meeting a T-Rex at Matlock Farm

On a rather snowy Easter Monday, Minime and myself headed to Matlock Farm Park in Derby for their Easter Reptile Weekend. As well as the expected tortoises, lizards and snakes we met a T-Rex! Check out the snow!
Tricksy the Dinosaur is the UK’s first female animatronic T-Rex and she is amazing!
She stands at an incredible 6ft tall and over 10ft long, Tricksy the Dinosaur blinks, roars and walks like a real dinosaur. We were super impressed at how real Tricksy looks.
The farm is open all year and set in beautiful countryside with plenty of cute animals to see. Children can get up close with all the animals and at certain times can handle the small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and reptiles – Minime loved this part! Look how brave he was with the snakes!
Other animals on the farm include wallabies, rhea birds, pigs, alpaca, llamas, sheep and cows and a new herd of deer. The meerkats are adorable there are daily talks and you can get involved at feeding time too. Feeding this lamb was such fun.
There is an adventure play area, and indoor play barn and also a Go-Kart track and a cafe to keep the little ones entertained. We really enjoyed our day out at Matlock Farm, Tricksy was awesome and we loved seeing all the animals.
