Delicious meat from Swaledale

Ad – we were kindly gifted some meat from Swaledale.

When it comes to cooking meat, I am always on the lookout for top quality and that’s where Swaledale butchers come in, Swaledale are a whole-carcass butcher that is focused on producing products that are exceptional to cook and eat.

They currently have some wonderful products in their Himalayan dry-aged chamber including some famed Cote de Boeufs and other prime steaks

The seasonal specials are another great option for customers to choose from. The seasonal special are updated monthly offering incredible quality products at a great price. The reason that they can offer these wonderful specials is primarily due to the fact that Swaledale are a butcher for various renowned restaurants and pubs such as St Johns, The Quality Chop House, Moro, and many more.

Since 2020 Swaledale Butchers also supply directly to homes, which enables them to operate a precise carcass balanced operation. 

All of their produce is sourced from native breeds farmed across the Yorkshire Dales. They focus on native breeds, as they are naturally able to graze on the rough Yorkshire uplands, unlike faster-growing continental breeds. This upland farming is a slower process than conventional farming, it produces better flavour whilst not making an unsustainable impact on our soil, land, and natural environment.

The Swaledale Classic Steak Meat Box – £50

The Swaledale Classic Steak Meat Box celebrates traditional breeds of cattle, such as Dexter, Highland and Belted Galloway, slowly grown on limestone pasture and high quality hay, then properly dry-aged on the bone in the Himalayan salt ageing room for 28 days.

When paired with the low density farming methods employed by the farmers across the Yorkshire Dales, complex flavours can be expected. Featuring 3 classic prime steaks – Sirloin, Ribeye and Rump, a steak-lovers delight, perfect for a stylish BBQ or simply pan-fried over intense heat. 

All steaks are prepared on the day of despatch by a dedicated team of artisan butchers. Always fresh and suitable for home freezing.

Beef Fillet Steak 2 x 180g – £25.60

Perhaps one of the most recognisable steaks, the fillet of beef sits inside the sirloin and is one of the least used muscles – hence its melt-in-the-mouth tenderness.

Their best fillet steaks are prepared from heritage breed cattle that have been allowed to grow slowly on a grass-fed diet – this slow development allows natural marbling to occur and real depth of flavour to develop. The beef fillet is aged on the carcass to intensify its natural grass-fed flavour.

T-Bone Steak 800g – £33.60

A food icon; the T-Bone Steak comprises both the fillet and sirloin on the bone.

The beef is from small farms across the Yorkshire Dales – given the necessary time to develop and grow naturally on a grass diet. To achieve outstanding flavour they dry-age in their Himalayan salt chamber, allowing the beef to tenderise and concentrate.

This T-Bone Steak is an indulgent sharing steak, perfect for two.

The customer service experience which I received from Swaledale was great and I found that the website was very easy to use. The delivery of the meat was very efficient, it was tracked and gave updates and the meat came packed with ice bags to make sure it remained fresh. The meat itself was absolutely delicious and the steaks very super juicy and so tasty.
