Getting outdoors this summer
With the summer holidays fast approaching and the hopeful exit from lockdown restrictions I am sure many of us are looking forward to getting back to some sort of normality. Most Covid-19 restrictions have eased slightly now with many activities re-opening for adults and children to enjoy. If you have craved some outdoor time here are just a few ideas of things that you could do:
Paddle boarding is becoming increasingly popular in the UK. Stand up paddle boarding can be done in many locations across the UK on rivers or lakes and paddle boards can be picked up online very cheaply.
Get back to the stables for some horse riding lessons. So many people, children especially, thrive when they are around horses, whether you are riding, grooming or even helping to muck out. Check out your local are to find out what is available.
Paintball is the ultimate fun outdoor activity, you are out in nature in the woods with a group of friends, apparently it isn’t as painful as it used to be either! Many paintball sites also have other fun activities to enjoy such as zorbing.
Head into the forest for some treetop fun, places such as Go Ape are open for adventurous adults and children. You’ll get to experience the high rope ways and bridges and the exhilarating zip lines. Fun for all of the family.
Zoos and Wildlife Parks
Get out and support your local zoos again. They really suffered during the pandemic due to lack of funds. Now that they have all re-opened they really need the support of visitors through their doors.
All of these activities take place outdoors meaning that they are more Covid-safe and you can all benefit from a bit of fresh air and doing something a little different. With six weeks off approaching let’s hope that come July 19th even more restrictions will be lifted in the UK and we can all get out this summer and start supporting local businesses.
