Top restaurants with outdoor seating
We love eating outdoors and we are always on the look out for places with good outdoor seating areas. Many restaurants have terraces, gardens, roof tops or decking with fantastic views and a great atmosphere. Of course, you want to make sure that you are going to be eating some delicious food too. Some of the best meals we have had have been eating outdoors on holiday but there are some pretty amazing places right here in the UK too.
It has even proven that eating outdoors may be good for you. Multiple studies have shown that spending time outdoors lowers your heart rate and blood pressure which in turn decreases stress hormones.
If you are looking for a restaurant recommendation, here are just a few that we have heard wonderful things about – especially focusing on their outdoor seating areas.

Just a short walk down the beach from Penzance is The Godolphin Arms restaurant which overlooks the iconic St Michael’s Mount with distant views of the beautiful Lizard Peninsula. Their dedicated team produce dishes using the freshest of ingredients, picked fresh from the stunning Cornish shores.
Riddle & Finns
65 Kings Road, Brighton, BN1 1NA
I love sitting by Riddle & Finns when we go to Brighton, it sits under a Victorian arch beneath the promenade at Brighton beach. It is famous as a seafood restaurant and also as a champagne and oyster bar. Outdoors overlooks the remains of the old West Pier which burnt down in 2003.
Petersham Nurseries Restaurant
Petersham Road, Church Lane, Richmond, TW10 7AB
Petersham Nurseries Café, is just stunning, you may have seen pictures on Instagram? You’ll get to dine within their glasshouse restaurant, brimming with bougainvillea and jasmine and enjoy seasonal food inspired by their kitchen garden. Dining alfresco there is certainly a real treat.
Are you hungry now? I am. There are so many places to choose from whether it is a humble pub garden, a beach cafe or a restaurant overlooking a lake. Now that Covid restrictions have lifted in the UK all of our bars and restaurants are fully open again to be enjoyed and we should all do our bit to support them as many have taken a hit financially. Some people may prefer eating indoors but personally I love to eat al fresco – especially on a lovely summers evening with a tasty cocktail or two.
