De Vere Theobalds Estate- A Hidden Gem

We had a delightful stay at the De Vere Theobalds Estate, which is conveniently located close to the motorway and is a short train ride into London but you wouldn’t know it down to the beautiful grounds it is situated in.
The hotel has two very different parts, an old part which is beautiful with rooms up winding staircases and the new side which is more corporate with a fantastic brand-new conference centre.
Minime loved the fact there was so much space to run around and also the amazing tree house that stands proud in the grounds.
We found the staff to be really helpful on check in and after a short search for our room, we found it and was pleasantly surprised how large it was. There was everything we needed in the room and the view was spectacular.
The evening meal in the restaurant and was delicious and they were very accommodating to Minime, the menu alternates between A’la carte and buffet style service depending on the time of year and how busy the hotel is.
Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had, a wide selection of fresh smoothies, full hot cooked breakfast and a very impressive selection of continental items.
Just a short taxi ride to the train station and a quick 20 minutes on the train, we found ourselves in Central London and it was a delight to come back in the evening to the tranquil surroundings of Theobalds Estate.
Theobalds hosts weddings and conferences throughout the year and we hardly noticed as the hotel and grounds are so big.
The staff really made our stay and were so helpful with taxi reservations, sourcing us items we requested and generally having a smile upon their faces.
I would highly recommend De VereTheobalds Estate to anyone looking for a luxury hotel with or without children. Read more about our travel experiences here
